32 Weeks with Number 3

I've done a horrible job at documenting for this little guy. How cliche!

In this rare moment where BOTH girls are napping (and sharing a room no less) I will jot down some notes from this point in the pregnancy.
(The box in the background is a new carseat for Claire. Figuring out a 3 across configuration for a 2010 Honda Odyssey and two rearfacing has been no easy task! Actually we're going to have to move Claire all of the way to the back of the van when brother comes.)

How far along? 32 weeks (tomorrow).

Total weight gain: 21 pounds (but I started out 30 pounds overweight feels like a lot more)

Maternity clothes? Yeah.

Stretch marks? Nothing new.

Sleep: My right hip has ached all through this and the last pregnancy so sleeping on my right side is mostly out of the question. Otherwise I've been okay sleeping, just going to the bathroom 2-3 times a night.

Miss Anything? Not really.

Movement: Yes. He's an active little guy and rolls all around. It feels like he's stretching his legs out straight and arching his back into my belly button.

Food cravings: Not really right now.

Gender: It's a boy.
Claire's new seat (Pioneer Britax), new crib, and new nap mats for the girls for "school" in June when daddy is working planting season and mommy is alone with a baby and two energetic children. ;)

Labor Signs: A week or two ago I started having "pinching" and a real heaviness that was quite alarming. I had been hard at work in his room and we were shopping at Target (see car seat and crib above).

My doula said it was pretty normal for a 3rd pregnancy to feel some early labor stuff (I felt like this with Sophie right before she came). Sure enough I started listening to my body more, resting etc. and I've been fine since then.

(I try to drink 3 of these a day. One by noon, one by 5pm and one by bedtime.)

Symptoms: When I don't get close to 100 oz. of water or when I eat out or travel I swell up. Also if I sit in one spot for too long (like staying up late working on a project). Otherwise I'm pretty good.

Belly Button in or out? Out.

Wedding rings on or off? Way off.

Exercise: Not really. :( Sorry little guy. I like to walk but saw a loose pit bull chasing down a little animal last week while I was out. So I'm a little wary to get back out.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Very happy!  But let's be honest, when I'm pregnant I'm really short tempered... :/

Highlight of the week: Getting little guy's room all done. I made a solar system out of tissue paper and got them above his bed, and some water color paintings.
You can get a sense of the progression here. From top left to bottom right, blank walls, space decals on walls (that pealed off REALLY quickly), decals modpodged onto canvases as a last resort, hand made space art (that was fun!), rocket ship decal, framed art over diaper table, solar system over bed, baby boy's closet (all clothes from my friends... they rock!)
Consignment sale finds! Everything we've had has been pink so I tried to cheaply replace as much as I could (high chair, bath seat, bouncy seat etc.)

Looking forward to: Going to my little cousin's bridal shower this Saturday. My OB nixed the option of travelling 8+ hours past 36 weeks so I don't get to make it to her wedding.. Really sad about that. On that note, I hope to go into labor sooner than later with this little guy. I'm praying for before 40 weeks this time... but trying to get my heart prepared for either way. ;)

In the meantime, we've been enjoying time with these two girls. Family is such a blessing and they are so much fun. 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 are fun ages and they sure do love each other.
