Amber and I set some time aside to really pamper ourselves. You know, Chic-fil-a style, hot cocoa, salon style and all.
We went to a local nail spa and it was awesome. They offer coke, water, wine etc. as your chair massages your back and your feet soak in warm water. And the highlight for me really was the flat screen tv's playing "You've Got Mail". Now that's classy.
I even was a bit sad I hadn't lugged my camera around with me. What do you think? Is a salon review in my future??
I have to admit, it was pretty cool.
My only complaint really was that I tried to be clever/friendly with my pedicurist.
Here's how it went:
When she brought me my Sprite complete with a straw and had started my massage chair up I said, "It's like a luxury airliner! You should start an airline where you give pedicures. The women will love it!"
The man AND woman looked in disdain to which the woman replied, "They wouldn't allow that." And her face really said it all. As in, I'm a moron. Obviously.
Oh right.. The fumes in the air and the water sloshing around during turbulence. Clearly I hadn't thought this all of the way through.
My bad.
We got pedicures and the lady asked me if I would like a design. I'm not normally one to go for polish much less a design. But I decided to keep summer in my heart a little and went out on a limb.
After much convincing I decided to post a picture of my feet on the blog. But first I'm giving you plenty of warning to turn back before it's too late. Don't say I didn't warn you.
So, warning: There is about to be a picture of my feet on the blog. I repeat: My finger-toe is about to be revealed to the public.
Still with me?
Okay... This is the design I got.
Sing with me: "Aruba, Jamaica..."
As we traipsed around Target afterward in our flip flops, freezing our tootsies off I began to have second thoughts. Did I go too far? Is it too flashy? Is my toe... trampy?
That night as we lay in bed I woke Jacob up and had to speak the burning question that had been on my heart.
"Love?"
"Yess..."
"What do you really think about my big toe?"
And that nice man actually took me seriously and answered.
Girls, that's when you know it's love.

I'm like you. I hardly ever paint my toes and I never get a design but I like them!
I LOVE your big toes - so cute & great for that winter chill to be blown away. Thanks for sharing! :)
So what did Jacob say????????????
He said he LOVED my big toe!!! :)
awesome!! I've never been much of a painter, much less a design person either. But in China, when it cost me all of $6 to get a pedicure AND get them painted, I always went all out! :)
So impressed with your giant step in getting polish. AND a design. Yea you!
